UNESCO’S PATRON SAINT INAUGURATED AN ONLINE SCHOOL IN CONGO-BRAZZAVILLE ON WEDNESDAY 14 OCTOBRE 2020

After the signing of a cooperation agreement with the current Congolese President Mr. Denis Sassou Nguesso as well as the visit of a center for the treatment of sickle cell disease on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, Ms. Audrey Azouley, Director General of UNESCO inaugurated an online educational website at the lycée de la Révolution.

It is an online television channel called EADTV (Teaching at Home TV) to facilitate home access of Congolese students to online courses and presented by the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Mr. Anatole Collinet Makosso.
« As a hosting and broadcasting platform, this channel uses social networks to broadcast audiovisual courses, but also documents, programs and information of an educational nature. The technical set includes a studio for live broadcasting and a set for deferred broadcasting, » he said.

The director of UNESCO was pleased with this solution in Congo-Brazzaville although aware that it has limitations including difficult access to the Internet for Congolese students living in villages and rural areas, so she stressed:
« The Internet, there is more than one child out of two who does not have access to it in the world. We can not limit ourselves only to distance learning via the Internet.

Finally, the students of Congo-Brazzaville thank Mr. President Denis Sassou NGUESSO, Director Audrey Azouley and Mr. Anatole Collinet Makosso for this initiative.
